Mission of the Centre

Mission of the Expertise Centre for rare and complex diseases and particular for Autoimmune Liver Diseases (with an emphasis on Autoimmune Hepatitis and Primary Biliary Cholangitis) is to focus on early diagnosis that has a clear benefit for the patient and healthcare system and the provision of high quality healthcare services.

Diseases

The Center specializes in complicated liver diseases with a focus in Autoimmune Liver Diseases and especially: Autoimmune Hepatitis (ΑIΗ) and Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC). These are complex diseases requiring special and multifactorial approach in terms of diagnosis, follow-up and treatment.

Multidisciplinay Team

The Centre is staffed by a Specialized Multidisciplinary Team. Scientific Supervisor of the Multidisciplinary Team is the Professor in Medicine George N. Dalekos from the University of Thessaly, Head of the Department of Medicine and Research Laboratory of Internal Medicine, General University Hospital of Larissa.

    Patients are accepted by appointment Monday-Thursday (8.00-15.00) at the Liver Outpatient Clinic (outpatient clinic with number 64) of the University Pathology Clinic of the General University Hospital of Larissa.
